Special Recognition for 2017 Achievement

  • 2017 was a dry year for gold slams. Oren Motevassel won three nationals in 50 doubles. Michael Tammen won two singles and three doubles nationals in the 55 division and JB Hayes won three doubles in the 80 division. Jimmy Parker extended his lead in overall nationals won from 127 to 131 by winning two singles and one doubles in the 70 division plus another Super Senior Father-Son.

  • The USA men captured seven of the ten available World Super-Seniors Individual Championships in Lake Nona FL. King Van Nostrand (80) and George McCabe (85) distinguished themselves by taking gold in both singles and doubles (McCabe partnered with John Powless). Congratulations also to doubles winners Dan Grossman (65), Richard Johnson/Jimmy Parker (70) and Fred Drilling/Michael Stewart (75).

    USA men fared less well in the World Senior Individual Championships winning just one of six outright (Mike Fedderly in the 55 singles) and sharing another (Ross Persons in the 60 doubles with an Australian partner).
